Non profit organization was founded in 1998 with the aim to help pregnant women and mothers with children in crisis situations. Till  the year 2000 it was part of the Institute of Christ Supreme Pontiff, then it started to work as the independent non profit organization.

Mission of the organization

The mission of the organization is protecting the human life from its conception till natural death, protection the human life in its every progressing stage, helping an abused woman and her child.

 

The mission of the non-profit organization YES FOR LIFE is to reinforce esteem towards women, motherhood, and family, and to influence the public views about domestic violence. To advocate against personal, family and professional discrimination of women, by which women suffered in history and still suffer till today.

 

Areas of activity

·         Delivering social services and special consulting in Houses of Social Services

·         Operation of a free telephone line for women in crisis situations

·         Organization the seminars, public discussions, conferences and lectures oriented to realization the purpose  of the non- profit organization.

·         Publishing materials supporting the purpose of the non-profit organization.

·         Helping families with more children in our region.

Ø  it offers accommodation and special consulting in institution of social services – Asylum House of G.B.Molla for lonely pregnant women in need and mothers with children as the victims of domestic violence

Ø  it carries out free of charge telephone Help link for women in crisis situations

Ø  it carries out shelter workshop and Centre of  consulting

Ø  it organizes conferences, seminars, public discussions and lectures focused on the main aim

Ø  it publishes occasional periodic and propagation materials

Ø  it helps families in region which are threatened by social exclusion

Ø  it offers specialized practice  for students

House of Gianna B. Molla

 

 

It offers social services in the asylum house for lonely parents.Capacity of the house is 25 clients.

Target group:

·           Pregnant girls and women in need 

·           Mothers with children – victims of domestic violence

 

We helped  398 persons, 169 women and 229 children together, with temporary accommodation during the years 1998 -2008.

Forms of help:

Living programme, help in crisis, social assistance, ambulance help, crisis telephone link, social work in terrain, programmes for children.

Working methods:

Special consulting – social, juridical, psychologic, pedagogic, crisis intervention, ergotherapy, pedagogical methods.

Programmes:

·           Therapeutic programmes- week communities, peer groups, evening community, individual consultation, ergotherapy

·           Support programmes- body-building, children club, sports and cultural activities

It represents 24 hours service and enables to gain.basic information about forms of help for the people who are in problems and distress. It is free of charge from all Slovak territory.

Shelter workshop

From 29-9-2006 it was administrated the status of shelter workshop with the seat in the House of G.B.Molla for 2 persons with  handicap. One is lector of ergotherapy and the other is pedagogic person.

Community centre

Community centre is focused on  variuos activities for wide public. We want to offer help and services for mathers on long-time maternity leave, women disadvantaged at the labour market and families threatened by social exclusion. Volunteers also help in these situation, thit is the place for Mother club, education activities, peer groups or short time kindergarten.

·           Creating networks with social institutions all around Slovakia.

·           Widening own network of institutions also to the other Slovak regions.

·           Creating cross-sectoral partnership.

·           Continuing in transnational cooperation and projects implementation.

·           Integration to European social networks – organization become the partner in transnational social network ENISE, which help to develop new methods of economical operation based on principles of social economy.

·           Helping and advising new countries of the future enlargement – Ukraina  and its social institutions.

·           Create social economy as a new type of enterpreneur.
